Bear Root - Hot Process Soap & Shampoo Bar  (Also known as Osha Root) This bar has a very mild scent, but is a powerhouse on the skin and hair, not to mention moisturizing.
 
In Lakhota we call this the Bear's Medicine. It was gathered during travels as it grows outside our territory. Now it is acquired through trade and gathering. Bear root, gets its nickname from the people observing bears coming out of hibernation. When a bear comes out of hibernation, it will eat Osha root to cleanse its digestive system and boost its immune system. The bear will chew the root into a watery paste, spit it on its paws and wash its face and whole body with the herb. Osha root is a powerful antiviral and antibacterial herb. For headaches, respiratory or allergies, it can be burned and breathing in the smoke will treat your ailments. It ward off snakes and is often made into a tea.
 
Our family harvests Bear Root in the lands of the Nimiipuu people, aligned with respect, reverance, & reciprocity. We grind the Bear Root (also known as Osha Root) and create an infused oil that we use in our Bear Root Soap & Shampoo Bar, Bear Root Body Butter, Bear Root Sugar Scrub & Owashte Bear Root Infused Mentholated Chest Rub.
 
Made with Ground Bear Root (Osha Root) from Nez Perce Country, Bear Root infused Grapeseed Oil, Ground Bear Root , Goat's Milk, RSPO Sustainable Palm Butter, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Canola Oil, Lye, Kaolin Clay, Greek yogurt, Sugar, and Earth Pigments from Black Hills of South Dakota.
